You guys, I am so excited. Normally, the New Museum leaves me kind of cold, but Architizer is reporting that for German artist Carsten Höller’s retrospective show, opening this month, he will be installing a 40-foot-high, 102-foot-long clear plastic slide in the building. Here’s the scoop: “The slide, a signature site-specific installation that has appeared in other cities including Berlin, Milan and London, is to function as “an alternative transportation system within the museum,” running through ceilings and floors and shuttling viewers through the exhibition “as a giant 102-foot-long pneumatic mailing system.” I’m so riding the slide on my lunch…

Long gone are the lackadaisical days of summer—things are beyond busy now. So last night, in an effort to recharge my batteries, I treated myself to an evening of couch surfing while chowing down on a pint of Mint Chocolate Cookie ice cream and checking out really, really bad T.V. shows, like the Charlie Sheen roast. In between bites and browsing I webbed around to get all caught up on the latest and greatest offerings from my fave furnishing companies. While many of my findings were fabulous, the pieces that made me do a double take were the following chairs from Room Service.

While working on little Teddy’s nursery, I decided that standard-issue hampers and toy bins were just not going to work for me. In a frenzy to find stylish storage, i came across these gorgeous Serena and Lily Senegalese Storage Baskets. They’re big, bold, and exotic without taking over the room, and the handles are helpful for carrying huge loads of baby laundry over to the washing machine. My basket success (and ensuing infatuation) got me thinking… what else is out there? Here are a few of my favorite woven wonders: O.co, formerly Overstock.com (why did they do that?) actually has…

Last week I wrote about being Dwellingly Challenged and it has become my anthem of the year. This week I moved into my first house and MAN the challenges I had not fully appreciated while sitting pretty in our little glass box apartments of recent years – tiny as they were. I have an entirely newfound respect and appreciation for our fellow architects, designers, stagers, craftsmen and contractors who’s hands are deep in this soil every day. So here goes a few Dwelling Challenges and Tips I’d like to pass along for whoever may be able to benefit in the…

Simply drop-dead amazing, these canvas cushions are created by Lost City Products, a New York-based design house dedicated to making furnishings and fashions that “are informed by vanishings crafts and inspired by an urban aesthetic.” Appropriately titled ‘Forensic,’ this collection of provocative pillows—featuring finger print, blood splatter, hair motifs and more—masterfully manipulates the boundary between gruesome and good looking to call attention to people’s fascination with the “gothic allure” of evidence. The pieces are bold. They’re not for everyone. But I say bravo! Call me crazy, but I want them all.

Happy National Pink Day!!
No, I’m not making this up. Evidently every year on this date, pink is praised for its romantic and soothing shade, and for its tie to breast cancer research (pink ribbon is its symbol). So to celebrate, my colleagues Josh, Kelsey, Margaux, Michelle and I have rounded up our new favorite pink finds for your pleasure. Some are pretty, one is yummy, and the other is gobsmackingly gummy. Enjoy!

I’m a big little kid. I push peas to the side when they pop up on a plate. I don’t color within the lines (what’s the fun in that?). And the sight of balloons makes me bounce up and down like a pogo stick. But, I am mature enough to appreciate awesome architecture when I see it, like these dope digs designed for tots.
