VP+C IS SINGING THE BLUES…

Thanks to the realization that we’ve entered into August (how did that happen?!), we at VP+C are desperately trying to savor our last moments of summer. As we scramble to take in all the beachy brilliance that comes with this season, we’ve found a common theme amongst many of our summer favorites – blue! It’s the nautical hue of the seas that we’re completely obsessed this month!

I challenged our team to share the items that they’re true blue for and here’s what we came up with! Enjoy!

* Group Color Choice: Benjamin Moore’s Sea to Shining Sea

To know blue is to love blue, which is definitely the case for this calming color from Benjamin Moore. It’s soothing and light, and would make an awesome addition to any home, no matter your style aesthetic.

* Michelle’s Pick: The Blue Man Group

For most people, the end of summer brings a melancholy mood. After all, we have to say goodbye to our blue buddies: the pool, the beach, and the summer sky. But it’s hard to be blue when you’re watching the Blue Man Group! Unless, of course, you walk out of the theater splattered in a coat of cerulean paint!

* Margaux’s Pick(s): Blue Jello + The Smurfs!

It’s impossible to choose only one azure obsession, so I decided I’d pick two! My blue’s clues for the month are delectably delicious and splendidly silly: Blue Jello and The Smurfs Take New York! Wiggle and jiggle your way down to your nearest theater and make sure you catch the remake of a cobalt classic… I know I will!

* Meghan’s Pick: Beautiful Blue Appliances

When it comes to the kitchen, I can’t handle the heat. The dicing, dashing of this and that, and all of that other culinary jazz simply stupefies me. I wish I could be like Julia or my girl June (Cleaver, that is). But, I’m Meghan from a block that happens to have all of the delish delivery joints a girl needs to keep her from burning down the house.

That said, I do know how to whip up something that I think is pretty sweet—a cooking space outfitted with awesome retro-style gadetery. I have an insatiable craving for 1950’s-esque appliances…in BLUE nonetheless.  So, in tribute to my throwback (and spotless) kitchen, and this month’s color of choice, I’m serving up a few of my favorite helpmates in said hue.

* Josh’s Pick: Violet Beauregard

The only thing better than eating blueberry dessert is becoming blueberry dessert. Enter Violet Beauregard, who embodies blue in one of my favorite childhood movies, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

* My Pick: Blue Chips

As an avid snacker (you can ask my colleagues, I eat all day), it’s hard for me to ignore my affinity for azure foods. Blue cheese, blueberries and Terra Blue Chips! I could easily eat a bag (or three) in one sitting… they’re crunchy, they’re wavy, they’re deliciously navy!

And now my question to our true-blue readers: What’s your sapphire selection this month?
