Over here at VP+C we are settling into our new office at 13 Crosby St. Though relocation is never easy, we’d like to report a smooth transition. With a new home follows new furniture, new keys, and for us … a new client – Arhaus. In honor of Arhaus’ opening in New York City (right in the Meatpacking District), we have proposed a project that encourages editors and designers to create ‘Urhaus for Arhaus’. With each photo-documented craft house created from our DIY kits, Arhaus was donating $100 to DIFFA – Design Industry Foundation Fighting Aids. Our colorful contribution is…

If, like most city dwellers, you don’t own a car, you should still go for a drive! In celebration of the NY International Auto Show, Fiat has taken over the gallery at 18 Wooster Street and filled it Italian cars, art and espresso to welcome anyone who wants to go for a downtown joy ride in its newest Cabrio. What really lured me to this event was the free espresso but the mention of Scott Schuman photography + Polaroid montages by Maurizio Galimberti did me in, too. Check out some photos from our afternoon Shen-Felder-Kang outing/ photoshoot: All about FIAT…

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but tomorrow is a pretty big day for royal watchers. And, while the whole world speculates about what the future princess will wear for her nuptials, I’m a lot more concerned with the crowd’s headgear. In particular, the fascinators. Chalk it up to my English heritage, or a love of bobs, bangles and feathers- either way, I’m fascinated with these little headpieces, which add whimsy and a real sense of occasion to any outfit. It’s not a totally new concept in America, either. You’ve probably noticed those headbands with a patch of feathers on…

Greetings from the Events side of VP+C Partners! With the warm weather finally starting to arrive in NYC, so comes one of the city’s most fun events. No, not the ability to wear short shorts (although that does make this team a little excited), but the Lower Manhattan River to River Festival! For the tenth year now, lower Manhattan has played host to some of the best artists many have never heard, and all for free! (Although some events require tickets). Just a few of this year’s highlights include: June 19– Bang on a Can Marathon 11am – 12am, World…

In anticipation of imminent sunny days, I spent this past weekend admiring two of New York’s most beautiful wonders; The Brooklyn Botanic Garden and The New York Botanical Garden. I admit, it’s a little unusual for one person to visit two gardens in one weekend, but this was due to the fact that my folks were in town and my grandma is completely obsessed with flowers. After seeing the Japanese Pond at BBG and the Orchid Show at NYBG, I can see why Monet, O’Keeffe, (and my grandma) were so inspired by Saison de Fleur. My vote for favorite seasonal…

On one of the sunny days last week, Michelle and I left work with a mighty high mission: to explore our new corner of Soho. Also known as “we had a few dollars burning in our pockets, so we decided to go shopping.” After bouncing around a few clothing stores, complete with a few trials (and errors) with all that’s trendy–I still can’t wear bold patterns–we decided to get our soap on. Hellooooo, Sabon! Known for its luxurious bath and body products, Sabon is one of my favorite shops in NYC. It offers a unique shopping experience, particularly when you…

I am calling out my colleagues, here at 13 Crosby Street, on the raw truth that there is a collective office obsession with our new neighbor – Sam Talbot. He’s the Executive Chef at Imperial #9 in the new Mondrian Hotel next door. Today was another in which an otherwise dreary rainy day was lightened up with a Sam Sighting. In fact everyone at our table was equally excited as he breezed through the dining room. You too can sneak a peak or get his recipe of the month – http://www.samtalbot.com/recipe-of-the-month.php And if you make your way to Imperial #9…

I’m continuing my quest to be an educated sports fan, so this past Sunday I attended my first hockey game. It also happened to be the last game of the season for the New Jersey Devils. After a little pre-game lunch at Scully’s, we headed into the NJ Prudential Center for some action. Check out some photos below! FYI: Devils colors are Red+Black, while the Boston Bruins rock Black+Yellow. So, you must be wondering why the stadium was infested with BLUE?! Not only were they wearing the wrong colors, they were chanting in a foreign language. Eager to get to…

Better late than never… Growing up, I’ve mostly turned to museums, dance performances and Broadway for entertainment. And though I have never been an avid sports fan, I thought it was about time for me to broaden my horizons. Curious to get my foot into the world of sports, and possibly understand the appeal behind faux sports, I figured this would be the perfect weaning experience. Last Monday night a good friend (my designated sports mentor) and I trekked to the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ for my very first NBA basketball game! Why the NJ Nets? 1. Not the…

I’m a big little kid. I push peas to the side when they pop up on a plate. I don’t color within the lines (what’s the fun in that?). And the sight of balloons makes me bounce up and down like a pogo stick. But, I am mature enough to appreciate awesome architecture when I see it, like these dope digs designed for tots.
