As Josh mentioned last week, we both attended our first NYC-area baseball games. And yes, a great debate and rivalry has begun. But, let’s be honest, even if the Yanks have 27 championships (yawn) they don’t need any more fans. Thus, after my first game, I’ve decided to pledge my loyalty to the orange-and-blue. Actually, my loyalty to orange and blue started more than 10 years ago, when I was a freshman at the University of Florida, so it’s really only natural that I continue cheering for teams in the same color palette. Hey — if it ain’t broke — don’t fix it!

So with that being said, I offer to you, loyal blog fans, my top reasons that the Mets are the best!

1. The Yankees may have had a play of the same name, (that is long gone) but how about having an amazing museum named after them. Hello! Have you been to the Met lately? I’m sure there is a direct correlation between the two. And there’s nothing better than the summertime cocktails on the magnificent rooftop bar!

2. Yankees may have pinstripes. But how boring is navy and white? Maybe it works if you are a sailor. The Mets really take fashion up a notch with its orange and blue motif. As I mentioned before, the color combination is already ingrained in my wardrobe, making the Mets a perfect fit for me. When you have more than one purpose for the orange and blue purse, necklace and earrings, you know you’ve struck gold!

3. David Wright. (Need I say more? Didn’t think so.)

But hey, you don’t have to just listen to me… check out today’s AM New York. They lined up Mets and Yankees fans toe-to-toe. I’m pretty sure the Mets came out on top there too!
