Luuuuucite, I’m Home!

I.love.lucite. Always have, always will. I come from a perfectly-organized home of little lucite holders and cubbies for q-tips and cotton balls, earrings and office supplies, a familial obsession that has obviously been passed down. I hate for things to clash, and lucite always goes.

I’ve seen a lot of bad eighties lucite, but, lately, i’ve also seen a lot of really, really good lucite across multiple categories. Come along, and i’ll show you why it’s a clear choice. Ha ha ha.

Iomoi does fabulous, preppy customized lucite trays. I’m not preppy by any stretch, but I love how these add a bit of whimsy and color. The company’s got about 100 styles, too. The choices are overwhelming!

More my speed, but less my price range, Alexandra Von Furstenberg is doing some amazing things with clear and color in the tray arena. Check out these beauties.

If you’re going whole hog, I’d recommend White Webb‘s alluring Pasha table, which is so pretty it’s almost a pity it’s see-through.

These gorgeous Zara heels are surprisingly demure, considering that clear heels typically signal “stripper.”

And, to keep it cultural, the Jaspers like to take in the local art scene when it’s our turn at the family lake house in Stockbridge, MA. We’ve been itching to hit up MASS MoCA, and this exhibit, Sanford Biggers: The Cartographer’s Conundrum, is a perfect excuse.

I consider myself a pretty cool mom, but this Vetro crib (Beyonce’s pick for baby Blue, supposedly) makes me think of an aquarium. I guess lucite’s not right for everything.
