Next to the invention of string cheese, Netflix is probably the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

For one, I’ve never been good at purchasing and collecting my favorites films, so to have a library of entertainment at my fingertips makes my lazy Sunday afternoons even more enjoyable.

Second, the variety of streaming options is actually pretty great. Case in point…Being Elmo: A Puppeteer’s Journey.

The award-winning documentary follows the story of Kevin Clash, the man who would become the puppeteer for the beloved Elmo that we know today.

Starting in his youth, Kevin was fascinated by puppets. He once, without permission, took a scissors to his father’s coat, removing the wool lining to give him a material with which he could build a monkey puppet. From there, despite constant teasing through his high school years, he would go on to create several characters–both literally as a seamster as well as in a theatrical sense–eventually landing a puppeteering position with a local television show in the Baltimore market. His first step to stardom.

Over time, his unique ability to give life to puppets and captivate audiences would put him in the same room as his hero, Jim Henson.

Spoiling no more details, I strongly recommend you check the “tickle-me” movie out.

And as as much as I love Lady Gaga, it’s Elmo who will always be my favorite monster.
