Happy National Pink Day!!

No, I’m not making this up. Evidently every year on this date, pink is praised for its romantic and soothing shade, and for its tie to breast cancer research (pink ribbon is its symbol). So to celebrate, my colleagues Josh, Kelsey, Margaux, Michelle and I have rounded up our new favorite pink finds for your pleasure. Some are pretty, one is yummy, and the other is gobsmackingly gummy. Enjoy!

* Group Color Choice: Benjamin Moore’s Gypsy Pink

This hue had all of us giddy with excitement, and thus served as our scouting source of inspiration. And while none of us are really pink ladies (or a pink man, sorry Josh), especially when it comes to home decor, this perfectly punchy paint is making us all rethink the color of our respective rooms. For me, I’m thinking it will add the right hit of drama and sophistication in my entryway. And for anyone with little or big girls, well, it’s so spot on!

* Josh’s Pick: Pinkberry

As I am a former Victoria’s Secret runway model (I retired my wings just before coming into PR), I have a lot of insight into the world of pink. You may even say I’m an expert. So, with all the knowledge that I have, I must say that my all-time favorite “pink-something” is hands-down…Pinkberry. YUM! And, though my favorite flavor of the season is watermelon, the fantastic fro-yo shop has also recently introduced salted caramel. These two flavors are carving out their own chapter in my life right now. They’re amazing alone; they’re amazing together. Kind of like Donny & Marie.

So, whether you’re feeling a little bit country, a little bit rock-n-roll, or a little bit “craving-a-swirl-of-heaven,” think pink and get your spoon on!

* Kelsey’s Pick: Pink Polish

In honor of National Pink Day and yesterday’s summer solstice, I’m all about summertime pink nail polish. I love my nails drenched in all shades of pink, and when paired with a glamour girl tan, well, the look is simply stunning! My go-to brand: Essie.

* Margaux’s Pick: Ny-lon

For me, Gypsy Pink is all about a Modern Bohemian. It’s empowered and strong, but still fun and sweet. This textile from Ny-lon design studio (studio of the coveted Fred Shand bedding and home products) could very well become an inspiration for the most feminist office or even perhaps a nursery ;).

* Michelle’s Pick: Pretty In Pink

Molly Ringwald in the ’80s classic romantic teen comedy-drama, Pretty In Pink…need I say more?  Oh, just keep in mind that pink is often prettier than you think, and that shoulder baring may cause staring!

* My Pick: Maurizio Savini

Here’s something to chew on: sensational sculptures made from gum.

For over 11 years, Italian artist Maurizio Savini has been creating jaw dropping art made from thousands of pieces of pink chewing gum. His life size works, which include a pill popping businessman, grizzly bear, pair of high heels and more have been exhibited internationally, and some have sold for approximately $55,000 (just as an FYI, an average pack of gum costs about $1.30). And all of his sculptures–perhaps because they bring back sweet childhood memories of Bubble Yum bartering on the playground–are just really sticking with me. I want one!

So, dear readers, what’s your pink pick of the day?
