What a surprise.

Though Mother Nature has given us quite a beating this winter, the people at Urban Daddy have conjured up a quick fix with a free pop-up park  at 201 Mulberry St.  I had visited this location a couple of months ago just before Christmas in its previous incarnation as a holiday boutique-  the pop-up spot consistently keeps things interesting and comes in clutch.  So, I picked up some MacBar to-go and slid over to check out the park.  With each step in the miserable wintry mix of snow/rain/sleet and kept thinking “this better be worth it.”

It was!

I think the pictures speak for themselves.  The park was complete with large trees, picnic tables, soft turf, large bean bag pillows, warming light,  a wishing well, and even bird chirps!  This should be mandated in every NYC building during the winter months to help prevent winter blues!

This park is open to the public 11AM – 6PM.  A calendar of events is available on their website/facebook.
