There’s always room for a little extra sparkle, especially during the holidays, right? We think so! That said, December’s Color of the Month at VP+C is… you guessed it: GOLD GLITTER.

ALANA GETS CRAFTY

Surrounded by the creative minds at VP+C, I has been inspired to get in touch with my creative side.  A gold glitter bomb bowl for the home—and it’s super simple (which is the exact kind of DIY that suits me).  Equal parts Mod Podge and Gold Glitter—a little stir, paint onto a blown up balloon, leave to dry, pop the balloon and voila!  You just made a bowl! This glitter accent bowl will add the perfect amount of sparkle to my coffee table this holiday season—plus I can brag to all my guests that it was made by yours truly.alana copy

MELODIE DOESN’T GET CRAFTY

I’m the absolute worst at DIY projects but that never stops me from fawning over the latest makeovers of classic, oldie-but-goodie household items. Glitter gold accents on holiday décor can transform a space into an elegant and chic home ready to party. Whether it’s for turkey day or ol’ St. Nick, glitter gold can really liven up the holiday spirits so either load on the glitter or lightly dab it on, either way, you can’t go wrong (I mean… I likely will, but maybe you won’t)!

MEGHAN GETS HAIRY

Even though ‘no-shave November’ is a wrap, I’m still celebrating the beauty of the beard. And, if you know me you know I fancy facial year round. But, what recently caught my eye in the world of manscaping (or lack thereof) is a new trend that really lets bushy bros with sparkling personalities shine. Cue the glitter-bomb beard. Certainly not for the timid, this festive fad is fab for holiday happenings—maybe not for work parties or meeting the parents for the first time, however—and it’s super simple to achieve: just grab some glitter, grease up your bristles with oil, and shake on whatever shimmering shade makes you smile. I happen to prefer pink, but the gold is good, too. My Christmas wish is to get my man to man up to this look. It may take some sweet talking, but I trust he’ll rise to the occasion. Stay tuned.

MARGARET GETS GLAM

Pat McGrath has been named one of the most influential makeup artists in the world. This fall when she launched her namesake cosmetics line, her first limited edition product sold out almost instantly—a stunning gold pigment, sold with a spatula and malleable formula that can be used to turn it into a glaze. McGrath was no stranger to the pigment in the SS 2016 runway shows, so even though her product itself is no longer available, I’m sure we can expect to see many copycats this next season.

MICHELLE DROPS A GLITTER BOMB

Some people use snail-mailed glitter bombs as a tactic to torment their arch nemesis. However, I actually think it’s a real treat to be dusted in shimmer by surprise and have perfected the art of making these glitzy gifts. To achieve maximum effectiveness (pictured below) I recommend my secret ingredient – Devine Dust available at Target. It’s a super fine glitter made to add subtle sparkle to paint + walls. Because it’s so fine-grained, it’s nearly impossible to remove and makes for the ultimate glitter bomb. You’re welcome. Enjoy!
