Today marks the start of Holi, a Hindu religious festival that comes at the beginning of each spring.

You may not know its name, but those of us captivated by color have at least caught a glance of Holi festivities- the holiday is also known as “Festival of Colors” and is distinguished by spirited gatherings and parades where celebrants toss brightly colored powders at each other. It’s a gorgeous riot of happy faces, vibrant hues, and fun…right up our alley!

I love this video!

While a quick Google search reveals Holi (also known as Phagwah) celebrations worldwide, I wanted to give a shout-out to one in my own borough- The Richmond Hill Holi Parade in Queens, NY is North America’s largest, with an expected 25,000 participants at this Sunday’s event.

See you there?
