This week I was lucky enough to try out Kiehl’s ‘new’ classic Crème de Corps Cream, which was created in collaboration with the band Florence and the Machine in celebration of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Florence, much like most young girls, struggled with her own self-image in her teenage years. She embraced the idea of a lotion devoted to teenagers, who instead of developing a sense of their own beauty, are faced with their own vulnerability in illness. This initiative is especially poignant because it nurtures and celebrates the teenager as well as nurtures and comforts the young warrior against cancer. This combination of lotion and charity is a compelling fundraising partnership because, at its core, it salutes the teenager and encourages recognition, respect and help.
Throughout my own teenage years my father used to scoff that all creams were only “hope in a jar.” Well, if that’s true, Kiehl’s Crème de Corps is the dawn of a new kind of hope — not ours but our skin’s. This cream really delivers and, from day one, I could see my skin glow with gratitude. With its inspired combination of pure ingredients, Kiehl’s has developed a product that goes on velvety light and hydrates all day without disintegrating into the dreaded afternoon sheen. After a week, my skin looked brighter, felt tighter, and its tone was noticeably more even. Exclusively sold out of the UK and priced so reasonably at £26, Kiehl’s offers great value with 100% of the sales net profits going towards the Teenage Cancer Trust. In other words, Kiehl’s really delivers what the other half-empty creams on my shelves only promised. So, to all you skeptical dads out there, there really is hope in a jar, and this is it!
