Artist Ellie Davies spent 7 years in the forests of the UK creating a series of images that place the viewer somewhere between fantasy and reality. Her intention of the work is to call the viewer’s attention inside the space and consider the cultural implications of landscapes and how that affects us psychologically. Are the woods really mysterious and dangerous, or do we see it that way because we grew up with myths and fairy tales that told us so? The images have definitely inspired this city girl to take a hike upstate for a weekend and renew my relationship with nature.
