Emily Enjoys a Sweet Treat

I am normally not a “purple” person, and generally try to stay away from all things this  color,  but there is one thing in the world that makes purple acceptable, and that is Black Raspberry Ice Cream.

The instant I saw that Poetic Purple was the color of the month- I was brought back to the many summers I spent working at my father’s ice cream shop in upstate New York. Black Raspberry was undoubtedly one of the most popular flavors, and my favorite.

I encourage you to go out and enjoy December’s color of the month in the best way possible- with a big bowl of Black Raspberry ice cream!

Will Looks to Tie it Together

With the impending festive holidays, everyone’s looking to dress to impress. However, it can be hard to deviate from the classic holiday colors of Christmas red and green, or the tried and true, unfussy combination of black and white to usher in the New Year, and you’re left with wanting a little bit of individualism.
For me – although I’ll probably stick with tradition for tomorrow – I’m looking towards poetic purple to inspire a standout touch for me come New Year’s Eve next week. Its warm tone is ideal for winter, and working it in via tie and bow-tie ensures the best of both worlds – classic, definitive, and magnetic.

Margaret Loves Berry Lip Service

One of my favorite beauty looks in the colder months is the berry lip in any texture—I’m more of a matte lipstick/stain kinda gal, but I don’t mind an over-saturated high gloss when I see one. Most people tend to opt for a pink or a red lip, but I find that purple lips are just as universal and a refreshingly unexpected choice. Paired with bold lashes, a sharp cat eye or a high watt eye shadow combo, the berry lip is sure to make you stand out from the crowd.purplelipstick

Echoing Margaret’s preference for matte lip finishes, Michelle loves the new nail art trend featuring the matte-mani look. Try Top Shop’s matte colors, or, Essie’s new matte top coat that can alter any color in your collection to achieve this effect. At VP+C, we’re loving the vibe of the Paint Box – the hip new salon on the block that makes your digits look dashing and polished.
