We know there are burning questions about the PR RV out there right now. Forget “Are these people out of their minds?” and let’s focus on  “Where are they sleeping?”

It’s not the Ritz. There’s a new campground on the itinerary each night, and we’ve officially survived our first night of glamping. There were mosquitoes in the showers, and sulfur-scented well water, (and a small incident with a roadblock about a mile down the road at 11:00 last night that nearly cracked us) but we made some awesome new friends who showed us their stunning photos of Yellowstone, and, to be fair, we’re not exactly roughing it.

Our new friend Linda Carney's stunning shot of an owlet and her mother, from a Yellowstone photo safari.

We’ve got a cupboard full of fun snacks, a small stash of rosé, running water (once Mark hooks us up) and electricity. There’s air conditioning, and we’re sleeping on silky-soft jcp Everyday sheets and curling up with Happy Chic by Jonathan Adler pillows and duvets. We are, scout’s honor, having fun. Mark passed out after a very long day of driving, but the girls hung out, laughing under the moonlight.

When we got up shortly after that, we had fresh brewed MarthaPantry coffee –which was, by the way, so, so delicious, and strong enough to get us going at 6am– and bowls of Greek yogurt with blueberries, bananas, and good maple syrup.

We’re still sleepy this morning, but we’re excited, too. As it turns out, this trip isn’t just about #promotingbrands. It’s about living with the products we talk about every day with the press, and getting to experience them firsthand. We’ve fallen for the Calico velvet mohair on the sofa, rung the Rocky Mountain dinner bell, and marveled over the Q Squared tray we served cocktails on last night. I let a full pound of olives shoot out of the fridge and onto the Mohawk laminate floor yesterday (“Things are going to shift when we drive!” Ariel keeps reminding me) and we wiped them up in two seconds, the incident forgotten. Things are indeed shifting while we drive.

What we do on the PR side isn’t just about living, even though we’re dedicated to architectural and interior design products. It’s about living well, with good, beautiful things that make life better, and loving the things you surround yourself with. It’s so cool to be falling in love for ourselves.

See you in Chicago!
