Clean + Green

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of being among the first to check out Country Living Magazine’s Home Green Home. A charming 1,700-square foot cottage was built right in the middle of the soaring glass towers of the World Financial Center. The juxtaposition of the home and the space was just what Country Living wanted, editor Sarah Gray Miller told the crowd at the opening night event. Green living can happen anywhere and at anytime, she said, and that’s certainly what we saw last night.

Country Living Magazine's Home Green Home

The cottage-chic home, designed by Katie Ridder, featured Benjamin Moore’s Aura and Natura paint and a plethora of inspiring eco-friendly products from lighting to fabrics and decorative accessories. Thankfully, each room lists all the products inside — making shopping afterword so much easier!

But beyond its dashing good looks (which I promised not to reveal after I was told to stop taking pictures last night. OOPS!), the real story of this home is that they built it in three days! Yes, I said THREE DAYS! New World Home, a modular home manufacturer, shipped this bad boy in crates to the site and crews worked in warp speed to assemble the home, which has earned LEED Platinum certification.

Last night’s event also served as the kick off for Country Living’s partnership with New World Home. Together they have created an entire collection of homes inspired by the always stylish magazine. Check out the rest of the collection here.

Hats off to everyone who made the home happen, including all our fabulous editorial friends!
